Any donation made to Better Things goes a long way

Every penny donated to our charity is spent on helping people to learn new skills, develop self-confidence, improve their employment prospects, deal with practical problems, and generally improve their quality of life.

Here are some specific examples of what your donations could achieve:

£5 = Pays for an advice session for someone struggling with a bullying problem

£10 =  Pays for gardening tools, seeds, and plants for the Better Things community garden

£20 =  1 hour of multi-sports activities with a qualified coach for up to 30 people

Making a donation

If you’re able to help Better Things financially, we would be very grateful if you could help support our work in one of the following three ways:

  • Make a one-off payment using our website’s online donation facility so that we can claim gift aid.

  • Regular donations are incredibly important to us. They give us a reliable income which means we can keep doing what we do.  A donation of as little as £3 per month (with gift aid) via standing order can make a massive difference and allow us to keep our activities free or low cost and hold them regularly, and to replace worn-out equipment.

  • Use a give-as-you-buy initiative like Amazon Smile and/or easyfundraising and nominate Better Things as your chosen charity

Corporate support

The bigger a charity is, the harder it can be to see clear business benefits of helping them. We have some amazing corporate supporters that help us to provide essential support to individuals and their families throughout South Manchester.

If you’d like to get involved, here are some ways you can help:

  • Nominated charity  - Why not make us your nominated charity and we’ll be happy to work with you to meet your corporate social responsibility needs

  • One-off donation – This could be for a specific item or aim. We’re happy to support tendering businesses with the social value element of their bids, where possible

  • Providing volunteers

  • Raising awareness of our charity within your organisation by displaying posters etc.

  • Strategic partnership - long or short term

  • Donating equipment you no longer need

  • Joining in with our ‘get your kit on ’fundraising day

“Our staff love volunteering and raising money for Better Things. The charity is always keen to show us where and how our donations have been spent, so we can really see the difference we’re making to people’s lives. From a practical point of view they’re also incredibly helpful and easy to work with”
