GET YOUR KIT ON
Red or blue, rugby or football, netball or cricket. Whatever sport or team you love, #GetYourKitOn on Fri 2nd Feb 2024. Wear your favourite sports shirt to celebrate uniqueness and fundraise for Better Things.
At Better Things, we appreciate how sport can bring people together and change lives.
So we’re looking for people to support our charity on its first ever fundraising day on Friday 2nd of February 2024.
On the day
All you need to do is wear your favourite sports shirt, make a small donation to Better Things, and encourage your colleagues, fellow students, friends and/or family to do the same.
If you want to make it even more fun, why not hold your own competition amongst those you know that are joining in, and compete for titles like:
oldest kit
most unusual kit
club/team furthest away
(If you would like blank winner certificates as a PDF so you can print them off and fill them in, please email marketing@saturnvisual.com with the name of your organisation and which certificates you’d like))
Our suggested donation is £5 per person (you can do this via our website so we can claim gift aid), which will go a long way, and help to pay for things like:
a one-to-one support session for someone experiencing bullying/abuse
a third of the cost of hiring a football pitch or sports hall so that up to 20 people with learning disabilities can have the opportunity to socialise and play sports together in a safe environment
The aim of the #GetYourKitOn fundraising day is for Better Things to raise a total of £2500, increase awareness of the important work it does, and hopefully attract ongoing donations/volunteers.
Beforehand
In the run-up to the day, we would really appreciate any additional help you can give in raising the profile of our fundraising day by:
Sharing our social media posts on the subject
Displaying a poster in your workplace, school, college, university or anywhere else that people might see it and choose to join in. Contact us for a pdf poster.
Asking people if they’d like to join in
Why help?
Better Things is one of the UK’s smallest charities and works hard to help make the lives of people with learning disabilities and/or autism in Greater Manchester and Cheshire more fulfilling with very limited funding. We would be very grateful of any support you can give in promoting and/or participating in our fundraising day.
